Accessory: A Retail Experience at KCM@HGD
Accessory features contemporary collections of products inspired by Kansas City’s history as well as the Kansas City Museum’s collection, and made by the Kansas City Museum in collaboration with local artists, designers, and artisans.
The “Pop-Up Haberdashery” will feature a small collection of products from Paolini Garment Company. In addition, the Kansas City Museum’s first retail product, a pair of socks, will be available.
The Corinthian Hall socks are designed by the Kansas City Museum in collaboration with Paolini Garment Company and International Architects Atelier. The design was inspired by the leaded-glass pattern in the Elizabethan Library of Corinthian Hall, which was built in 1910.
The calf-length socks are in navy and blue bell and cost $20 per pair. All proceeds benefit the Kansas City Museum’s renovation and restoration project to create a 21st-century museum of Kansas City’s history and cultural heritage. Black and gray socks in the leaded-glass pattern will be available in December 2017.
